You do not need to know every tarot meaning to begin. A three-card spread can be a simple way to organize your thoughts and notice a situation from more than one angle.
Begin with an open question
Try “What deserves my attention?” or “How can I approach this thoughtfully?” Open questions leave room for reflection. Avoid using a card to make factual claims about another person or to decide a medical, legal or financial issue.
Give each card a role
Use three positions: what shaped this moment, what needs attention now, and a possible direction. Turn the cards one at a time. Before reading the interpretation, notice the colors, gestures and symbols that catch your eye.
Read the cards together
Write one sentence for each position. Then ask how the three sentences relate. You are looking for a useful question or a new perspective, not a fixed prediction. If a meaning does not fit your experience, you can leave it.
Finish with something small
Choose one action you control: start a conversation, take a pause, write a list or make time for a creative idea. Save your reading and revisit it later as a record of how you were thinking.
